Aperçu du projet

This 30-room beachfront resort in Cebu operates 24/7 with a continuous load profile: central air conditioning across guest rooms and common areas, pool circulation pumps, hot water systems, kitchen refrigeration, restaurant equipment, laundry facilities, and full lighting. With Meralco's commercial tariff of ₱14.50/kWh, monthly electricity bills regularly exceeded ₱250,000 — making power the resort's second-largest operating expense after staffing.

Adding to the challenge, frequent typhoon-related grid outages threatened guest comfort and food safety in refrigerators. The resort management needed a solution that would reduce operating costs, ensure backup power for critical loads, and minimize installation downtime during peak tourist season.

The installed 60kW solar PV system paired with a 120kWh containerized lithium battery energy storage system delivers four core benefits:

Rasage de pointe — flattens load curve during Meralco's high-tariff windows (12–3 PM and 6–9 PM), reducing demand charges
Load shifting — stores daytime solar generation for evening check-in and nighttime AC loads
Backup power — keeps AC, refrigeration, and POS systems running seamlessly through grid outages and typhoon disruptions
Stable ROI — predictable energy cost reduction locked in for 25 years

Before deployment, our engineering team pre-assembled, pre-tested, and pre-commissioned the entire containerized battery system at our factory — including 72-hour continuous stability testing, charge-discharge cycling verification, thermal performance validation, and grid synchronization simulation. This pre-work dramatically shortened on-site installation time.

Thanks to this pre-testing approach, our on-site team completed the full installation in just 5 days — significantly faster than the typical 2–3 week industry timeline. The resort experienced zero guest disruption during installation, allowing it to maintain 100% occupancy throughout the project.

With a total system investment of $25,000 (≈₱1,450,000) at ₱14.50/kWh commercial rate, the system delivers:

Monthly savings: ₱100,000+ (8,100 kWh × 85% efficiency × ₱14.50)
Annual savings: ₱1,200,000+
Payback period: ~15 months (under 1.5 years)
25-year ROI: 1,900%+
Total 25-year savings: ₱30,000,000+

The integrated Energy Management System (EMS) intelligently coordinates battery charge/discharge cycles based on real-time Meralco tariff signals and resort load demand. The remote monitoring platform tracks system performance in real time, helping the resort manager verify projected savings and confirm the system is consistently performing above expectations.

Foire aux questions

Why does a 30-room beachfront resort need a 60kW solar + 120kWh storage system?

A beachfront resort operates 24/7 with continuous loads from central AC across guest rooms, pool circulation pumps, hot water systems, kitchen refrigeration, restaurant equipment, laundry, and full lighting. At ₱14.50/kWh commercial rate, monthly electricity bills typically exceed ₱250,000. The 60kW PV + 120kWh battery system addresses cost reduction, peak demand management, and typhoon-related backup power simultaneously.

How did your team complete the full installation in just 5 days?

Our engineering team pre-assembled, pre-tested, and pre-commissioned the entire containerized battery system at our factory before shipping. This included 72-hour continuous stability testing, charge-discharge cycling, thermal performance validation, and grid synchronization simulation. The container arrived on-site fully integrated, requiring only placement, cable connection, and final commissioning. The typical 2–3 week industry timeline was compressed into 5 working days, with zero disruption to resort guests.

What is the ROI and payback period for this 60kW + 120kWh system at ₱14.50/kWh?

The complete 60kW + 120kWh system is priced at $25,000 (≈₱1,450,000). At ₱14.50/kWh with 85% system efficiency, it delivers monthly savings of ₱100,000+ (8,100 kWh × 85% × ₱14.50) and annual savings of ₱1,200,000+. This means the system pays for itself in just ~15 months — one of the fastest payback periods in the commercial solar + storage market. Over 25 years, total savings exceed ₱30,000,000, delivering an ROI of 1,900%+. As Meralco rates rise 4–6% annually, actual returns accelerate even further.

How does the system handle typhoons and grid outages common in Cebu?

The 120kWh containerized battery storage provides automatic backup within milliseconds of a grid failure. The EMS detects outages instantly and seamlessly switches to battery power, keeping AC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and POS systems running. The system is designed for coastal Cebu conditions: typhoon-rated solar mounting, IP54-rated battery enclosure, and salt-spray resistant materials ensure reliable operation through typhoon season.

Is the system suitable for the Philippines' tropical island climate?

Yes. The system is engineered for the Philippines' tropical island conditions: high humidity, salt spray, typhoon-force winds, and intense UV. The battery container features IP54-rated enclosures, active climate control, and corrosion-resistant materials. Solar panels use PID-resistant cell technology suited for Cebu's coastal environment. Mounting structures are engineered to withstand 250 km/h wind loads.

What warranty and after-sales service are provided for this resort installation?

Solar panels come with a 25-year linear power output warranty. The lithium battery energy storage system includes a 10-year warranty (or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first). Our service includes: factory pre-testing, on-site installation in 5 days, Meralco grid synchronization, EMS commissioning, and ongoing remote monitoring. The resort manager praised our team's efficiency and the factory pre-testing approach that eliminated on-site surprises.
