This 30-room beachfront resort in Cebu operates 24/7 with a continuous load profile: central air conditioning across guest rooms and common areas, pool circulation pumps, hot water systems, kitchen refrigeration, restaurant equipment, laundry facilities, and full lighting. With Meralco's commercial tariff of ₱14.50/kWh, monthly electricity bills regularly exceeded ₱250,000 — making power the resort's second-largest operating expense after staffing.

Adding to the challenge, frequent typhoon-related grid outages threatened guest comfort and food safety in refrigerators.
